Description

This rare, superb natural history engraving is from Basilius Besler’s Fasciculus rariorum et aspectu dignorum varii generis. The work was published by Besler in Nuremburg in 1616.

The work featured the natural specimens of Basil Besler’s personal collection, his famous cabinet of curiosities. The engravings illustrate the rare fruits, stones, fossils, corals, algae, terrestrial animals, shells, fish and marine animals preserved in the collection.
