It was published by Jean-Baptiste Jacques de Beaurain in Paris in 1777.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis map depicts the state of the Revolutionary War before French entry, but likely in anticipation of French entry into the war as it is dedicated to a M. Sartine, Minister of the French Navy, who was strongly pro-colonial. It includes a miniature of the New Jersey and New York area, where much of the fighting occurred in 1777.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eJean-Baptiste Jacques de Beaurain (1728 - 1785was a French geographer and military historian.
