The illustrations are on heavy woven paper with the J. W. watermark. This watermark represents the J. W. Zanders German paper company. The paper was produced in the North Rhine-Westphalia region beginning in 1829.
The volume is half-bound in contemporary dark green morocco with green cloth boards with circular motif, spine in seven gilt ruled compartments with [TURKISH | COSTUME | 1839] in gilt in second compartment, edges gilt.
