This celestial pocket atlas is John Seller’s Atlas Coelestis Containing the Systems and Theoryes of the Planets, The Constellations of the Starrs, and other Phenomina’s of the Heavens, with Necessary Tables Relateing thereto Collected. The work was published in London circa 1677. This is an early and possibly first published celestial pocket atlas.

The work is bound in contemporary mottled calf, spine gilt in five compartments with red morocco label. The volume contains an engraved allegorical title page, 72 pages of letterpress, engraved portraits of Copernicus and Tycho Brahe, and 59 full page engraved plates pertaining to astronomy. Some of the pages include two engravings to a page. The images depicted are constellations, comets, tables, etc.
