This original color pencil drawing of a ship is by R. Yardley. It is numbered by the artist and was done circa 1965. The drawing feature detailed descriptions including the date spotted, name of the ship, direction of travel, flag details. While we don’t have autobiographical information on Yardley, he was clearly a skilled artist and excellent maritime craft knowledge. It seems a lot of his sketching was done off the coast of Torbay and depicted vessels from around world.
