Description of the work: This fine lithograph is from Alexandre Bourjot Saint-Hilaire's Histoire Naturelle des Perroquets or Natural History of Parrots. It was published between 1835 to 1839 by F. G. Levrault in Paris and Strasbourg.

Plates from this set were meant to supplement previous volumes of parrots published by Levaillant. The plates were illustrated by J. C. Werner.

Alexandre Bourjot Saint-Hilaire (1801-1886) was a French professor of natural history. He took the surname, Saint-Hilaire, after his father-in-law, Geoffrey Saint-Hilaire, who was also an author of natural history.
