This impressive map is Haasis & Lubrecht'sThe American Union Railroad Map of the United States. It was published by Haasis and Lubrecht in New York in 1873.
It was designed to show the size and magnitude of the United States post-Civil War, as can be seen from the vignette at the top of the map which gives a general longitudinal view of the United States, “from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean”. It is updated beyond an 1871 version of the same map, which depict an ever growing chain of railroads in the United States. The color on this map is exceptionally vibrant.
