This impressive map of North America is called L’amerique septentrionale, ou se remarquent les etas unis. It was engraved by Brion de la Tour, and was published in 1779 by Esnauts and Rapilly in Paris.
It depicts contemporary borders between English, Spanish, and French North American territories, as well as the newly formed United States. This map is one of the first to contain the name of the United States, in French albeit (Etas Unis).
