This rare collection of six celestial engravings is Ignace-Gaston Pardies's Globi coelestis in tabulas planas redacti descriptio The work was published in Paris in either 1674 or 1693 (undated). Each edition completed for this work is exceedingly scarce.

Pardies's star atlas is beautifully decorative. He figured his constellations after Johann Bayer's Uranometria but designed them over sections of the sky to six double page sheets. The six pages can be joined to create one large view of the sky.

Pardies (1636-1673) was a French Jesuit mathematician and astronomer. He created a number of celestial schemes and maps of the heavens. Pardies's maps were noted for the distinct stars and artistic constellation figures.
