Description of the work:

This first edition work is J. G. Millais's The Natural History of the British Surface-Feeding Ducks. The work was published in London in 1902 by Longmans, Green, and Co. This is copy number 407 of 600 done.

The volume is bound in contemporary red crushed half morocco gilt (done by Hatchards). The volume has frontispiece, 41 color bird plates, 25 in monochrome, and 6 photogravures. The color plates are by Thornburn (8) and Millais (33). The color and photogravure plates have the original tissue guards present.
