Description of the work: This volume with 21 lithographs is Philip Lutley Sclater’s The Curassows. The work was published in London in 1875 by Longmans, Green, Reader, Dyer.

This is volume 9, part 4 of the series. The book is bound in quarter leather with a gilt text spine and marbled board. There are 21 originally colored lithographs.

Philip Lutley Sclater (1829-1913) was an English ornithologist. The zoogeographic regions that he developed are still in use, albeit expanded upon by later zoologists.
